For Monday, November 17th, annotate the abridged version of the Declaration of Independence below and answer the following six questions in your notebooks...

1) Why was the Declaration of Independence written? 
2) Who is the intended audience of the Declaration? (Who was this written for?)
3) What is the main idea of the declaration of independence?
4) What do the signers feel are inalienable rights?
5) Why does the Continental Congress feel the need for a Declaration of Independence since it will not convince George III to change his attitude towards the colonies?
6) Were the colonists justified in separating from Great Britain? Why or why not?
